ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The governors of Maryland and New York have announced they will share arrest information on each state's parolees and probationers.

Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley and New York Gov. David Paterson announced the plan on Tuesday, saying the agreement will close a gap in sharing of criminal justice information.

Maryland's Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services will automatically relay the arrest information every day.

The department has similar agreements with DC and Virginia.
