To provide for continuation of treatment of offenders and to assist with their reintegrating successfully back into society, the Institution operates a halfway house in downtown Baltimore. Clinical staff offers psychotherapy, job and family counseling and social casework services, and monitors residents and community parolees. Inmates are required to attend community meetings and support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
In FY 1995, the Reentry Aftercare Center (RAC) was established at Patuxent Institution's Reentry Facility to provide day reporting and outpatient treatment services for offenders participating in the Department's Correctional Options Program.
